With more than 20 years’ experience as a invitation specialist and wedding consultant, Gloria R. Boyden has brought her strong belief in the importance of education and innovation to the art and science of outstanding wedding events.

She is a Master Bridal Consultant™ member of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC), the oldest and largest group of wedding professionals in the world. Gloria attained this highest ranking of the association in 2007 after 10 years’ affiliation and progressive growth with the group, demonstrating expertise and leadership in her field. She is one of fewer than 100 Master Bridal Consultants™ out of a membership of 4,800 worldwide.

Following an early career in education, Gloria began an invitation business in 1988 when she started Events by Design, serving clients in Chicago and northwest Indiana. In 1997 she added bridal consulting to the business and immediately took advantage of the educational opportunities offered by the Association of Bridal Consultants. She currently serves as the Indiana State Coordinator for the organization. She and her team of professionals planned and executed the ABC’s Business of Brides annual conference, held in Indianapolis in November 2009.

As an educator, Gloria believes in the importance of learning and professional development. She has consistently attended the ABC’s Business of Brides annual conferences. Within her home state, she has planned Quarterly Education Meetings for ABC, and she encourages and assists new members in planning such events. She has attended several lectures at the National Stationery Show in New York on invitation design and trends.

As part of her charitable work, Gloria and a core group of bridal professionals envisioned and created ABC’s “Art of the Table" a popular and well-publicized annual event in Indianapolis that brings together professionals who design artfully-appointed tables for all occasions. Proceeds from the event benefit charities and education in the memory of ABC Bridal consultant Betty Jackson.

Gloria is a graduate of Purdue University and holds a Master of Science degree from Purdue in Biology, educational media and journalism. She resides in Carmel, IN, with her husband Thomas Boyden, who is also and ABC member and assists with weddings.

Gloria teaches an introductory Bridal Consulting class for Indiana University/Purdue University continuing education department. She was the technical editor for Budget Weddings for Dummies, (Wiley Publishing 2009).
